Wedding on Brijuni island: take a glimpse into glamorous history

Many couples from around the world decide to get married in Croatia. The most popular are island and seaside weddings, where it is difficult to imagine a better location than the Brijuni Islands. Therefore, it is not surprising that our couple also decided to get married in Brijuni.

Wedding on Brijuni

Some of the most breathtaking sunsets can be seen here while enjoying the luxury accommodation this island has to offer.

This beautiful archipelago is located a few kilometers west of the Istrian coast, opposite the small town of Fažana, and consists of 2 islands and 12 islets.

The Brijuni Islands have long been and remain synonymous with glamour. At the beginning of the 20th century, Austrian Archduke Franz Ferdinand, painter Gustav Klimt, composer Richard Strauss, writers George Bernard Shaw and Thomas Mann rested here.

However, the real boom of the archipelago began in the 1950s, when Josip Broz, the president of the former Yugoslavia, hosted 90 statesmen from 60 countries on Brioni.

Enchanting Villa Primorka

This wedding was organized in Villa Primorka, which has an area of 550 square meters and is designed to accommodate 8 people.

In the interior of Villa Primorka Brijuni, you will feel as if you have stepped into another era, because every corner of this villa is decorated with furniture completely inspired by the retro style of the 1950s.

In fact, this villa dates back to the 1950s and was one of Tito’s residences in Brijuni.

Mediterranean food in a modern way

The newlyweds chose to emphasize Mediterranean cuisine, and the menu was dominated by meat and fish. Attractive cones in 3 shapes were served as welcome snacks. Beef tartar, fish tartar based on sea bass and vegetable tartar for lovers of plant-based cuisine.

The first course was a double carpaccio with arugula and emulsion. This was followed by a traditional Istrian dish, istrian pasta “pljukanci” with ox beef “boškarin”, which was given a modern touch. Octopus in forno was the next delicacy. At the end, a treat for food lovers was served, beef cheeks with celery puree and sauce.

Sugar always comes at the end, so it was the same this time in the form of chocolate fudge, white chocolate and ice cream. Of course, everyone rejoiced at the wedding cake, which was beautifully decorated.
